NHTI – Concord’s Community College

Michael Waszeciak served in NHTI Athletics from August 2019 to October 2021, playing a significant role in expanding the department's digital communications, branding and multimedia coverage.

During his tenure, Waszeciak established the department's first athletics Instagram account, developed and produced its first athletics livestreams and created numerous social media campaigns, including coverage of the NHTI men's basketball national championship run. He also helped introduce the college's first student-athlete media days and designed and produced the inaugural NHTI Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony.

Waszeciak worked alongside former Athletic Director Paul Hogan, Deb Smith, Susan Viau and Troy Colby, helping strengthen the department's communications efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hogan was inducted into the NHTI Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020, while Smith joins Waszeciak as a member of the Class of 2026. Waszeciak credits the creative freedom and support he received at NHTI with helping him develop professionally and establish a foundation for his career in collegiate athletics.

Following his time at NHTI, Waszeciak continued working in athletic communications, spending two years at Colby-Sawyer College before joining the University of Hartford, where he serves as Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications.

Waszeciak has earned more than 20 College Sports Communicators creative and digital design awards, including Game Day Graphic of the Year recognition in 2024-25 and Best Portfolio in Division III honors in 2025-26. He credits his experience at NHTI with helping shape his career and encourages future Lynx to pursue their passions and make the most of their opportunities.
