NHTI Men's Soccer opens up the season on top
The NHTI Men's Soccer team traveled to U Maine Augusta today to open up their season and the trip did no disappoint.
The first half was a back and forth contest and the Lynx couldn't find the back of the net. Just before the strike of halftime a ball over the top was run down by John Koerber and passed across the box to Ben Taylor who buried his first career goal.
Coming out of halftime the Lynx were searching for another goal to increase their lead and would find it. Then, on a beautiful corner from Taylor to the back post, Delvaughn Daley would get on the end of it and head it home to make the lead 2-0.
To put some icing on the cake, Koerber ran another ball down in the box and crossed it to the top where Joey Oliveira was waiting and buried it in the side netting.
The Lynx return to action Tuesday 9/9 vs. NECC at 4:00 pm on the Men's Soccer field on the campus of NHTI.
Inside the box score:
- The Lynx outshot the Moose 19-2 in the first half.
- Ben Taylor recorded his first points of his college career in his first match.
