AMHERST, MA - Six different Lynx score as NHTI finishes the season off strong with 6-2 win over Hampshire on Saturday afternoon.
After Hampshire struck first with a fourth-minute penalty kick, the Lynx found their rhythm late in the opening half. John Koerber buried the equalizer in the 27th minute off a feed from Delvaughn Daley, and Conner Newcomb added another just before halftime to give NHTI a 2-1 lead going into halftime.
NHTI took full control after the restart with Nico Escobar finding the back of the net off a feed from Joey Olivera in the 52nd minute. Daley and Ben Taylor then combined for back-to-back goals, before Olivera capped the scoring barrage in the 62nd minute with an assist from Escobar. Hampshire tacked on a late goal in the 78th minute, but the Lynx had already sealed the result.
Daley led the way with one goal and two assists, while Olivera posted a goal and an assist of his own. NHTI goalkeeper Torrence Johnson earned the win with four saves in net.
The Lynx finish their season with a 4-7 overall record.
