Men's Soccer Falls to Southern Maine in Final Regular-Season Home Match

CONCORD, N.H. – NHTI Men's Soccer fell to Southern Maine Community College, 3-0, Wednesday afternoon at the NHTI Men's Soccer Field in the Lynx's final regular-season home match of the 2026 campaign.

The loss moves NHTI to 0-7-2 overall and 0-6-1 in Yankee Small College Conference play, while Southern Maine improves to 6-4-3 overall and 6-1-1 in conference action.

NHTI generated an early scoring opportunity when Japhari Ramadhani (Manchester, N.H.) sent a left-footed attempt toward the net just over three minutes into the contest, but Southern Maine goalkeeper Lucas Caylor made the save.

The Seawolves opened the scoring shortly afterward, as Ithiel Mulumba worked his way into the right side of the penalty area before sending a pass across the front of the net to Cristiano Jundo, who finished into the bottom-left corner at the 4:10 mark.

NHTI's Stephen Abair (Milford, N.H.) made a defensive stop in front of the net less than a minute later, sliding to prevent a Southern Maine scoring opportunity in the box.

Ramadhani registered another attempt midway through the first half, sending a shot from outside the penalty area toward the net, but Caylor made the save.

Southern Maine doubled its advantage in the 30th minute when Marcelino Mulumbu sent the ball toward the left side of the attacking area, where Joyce Oshudiomba played it into the center of the box for Sam Coldwell, who converted to make it 2-0.

The Seawolves extended their lead to 3-0 in the 37th minute when Christian Hallowell converted a penalty kick, sending his attempt over NHTI goalkeeper Kurt Olson's outstretched right hand and into the upper-left portion of the net.

NHTI looked to respond late in the first half when Daniel Sherkanowski (Bristol, N.H.) found space for an attempt in front of the net, but his shot went wide.

The Lynx continued to battle defensively throughout the second half, with Ramadhani and Abair each blocking Southern Maine scoring attempts.

NHTI enjoyed stretches of possession late in the second half and generated additional offensive opportunities in the closing stages, including an attempt from Ben Taylor that struck the post with just over eight minutes remaining. Alijah Andrews also sent a shot from outside the penalty area high and wide in the final six minutes.

Ramadhani led the Lynx with two shots on goal in the contest.

Olson played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lynx, recording six saves. Wednesday marked Olson's fifth performance with at least six saves in six appearances this season. Caylor also went the distance for Southern Maine, earning the shutout.

Southern Maine finished with a 26-15 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in corner kicks, with all four NHTI corner kicks coming in the second half.

Wednesday's victory moves Southern Maine into a tie with Central Maine Community College atop the YSCC standings ahead of the conference playoffs, with both teams holding 6-1-1 conference records and 19 points.
