Daley Scores Twice as Men's Soccer Rallies for 3-3 Draw at Roxbury

BOSTON, Mass. – NHTI Men's Soccer overcame a two-goal halftime deficit and rallied again in the closing minutes to earn a 3-3 draw against Roxbury Community College Saturday evening at Madison Park.

The Lynx move to 0-6-2 overall following the non-conference matchup, while their Yankee Small College Conference record remains 0-5-1.

Roxbury opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Sean-Marley Rwabira converted a pass from Jyovane Cruz following an NHTI misplay inside the penalty area. The Tigers doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute as Stephen Edwards capitalized on a rebound from a Cruz free kick, giving Roxbury a 2-0 lead entering halftime.

NHTI responded in the second half, beginning with Delvaughn Daley (Randolph, Mass.) in the 67th minute. Japhari Ramadhani (Manchester, N.H.) dispossessed a Roxbury attacker and delivered a lead pass to Daley, who finished from inside the penalty area to cut the deficit to one.

Less than five minutes later, Alexander Musienko scored his first goal of the season to even the match at 2-2. Owen Stewart (Pembroke, N.H.) collected a deflection off a Roxbury defender and sent a pass ahead to Musienko, who converted on a breakaway in the 72nd minute.

The Tigers regained the lead in the 81st minute when Nigel Kiddugavu collected a loose ball approximately 45 yards from goal and fired a long-range shot into the upper-right corner of the net.

NHTI answered once more in the 87th minute. Following a kick from Alijah Andrews, Daley controlled the ball in traffic in front of the net before finding Jacob Hanson (Pembroke, N.H.) in the ensuing scramble. Hanson returned the pass to Daley for the equalizer and his second goal of the match.

Daley's two-goal performance brought his season total to six goals and 14 points, both team highs. Daley is tied for eighth in the YSCC in goals scored.

The Lynx recorded a season-high three goals on 27 shots, including 16 in the second half. Roxbury finished with 32 shots, although NHTI held a 16-12 advantage in second-half attempts.

Ramadhani led NHTI with seven shots, including three on goal, while Hanson added six shots, five on goal, and an assist. Daley finished with four shots and two goals, while Musienko recorded one goal on his lone attempt.

In goal, Kurt Olson played all 90 minutes for NHTI, recording 11 saves. Olson has now totaled 41 saves across five appearances this season, posting a .707 save percentage. His 11 saves matched the career-high he set last match (Oct. 8) at Vermont State University Randolph.
