NHTI Lynx Baseball Advances to YSCC Tournament
The NHTI Lynx advanced to the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Championship Tournament after winning 4-3 against Quincy College. This victory secures their spot in the semifinals against top-seeded Southern Maine Community College. The match will take place on May 4 at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
The Lynx at a Glance
The Lynx have demonstrated their well-rounded abilities throughout the season. Senior Matt Fortier leads the conference in home runs, hitting 7. Seniors Kyle Slate and Richie Thibeault are skilled base-stealers, with Slate leading the YSCC stealing 23 bases and Thibeault close behind with 19. Freshman Matt Drewes has shown promise with 5 wins and a 4.32 ERA, the third lowest among conference pitchers.
Saturday's Semifinal
The NHTI Lynx and SMCC Seawolves have played five times this year, with NHTI winning three out of five games. The semifinal match promises to be an exciting end to a thrilling season series with the winner going on to the championship game later in the evening.
