Men's Basketball Earns 100-89 Victory Over #6 Randolph

CONCORD, N.H. - Thursday's Senior Night delivered a signature moment as NHTI knocked off No. 6 Randolph, 100-89, in overtime at the Goldie Crocker Wellness Center.

The tone was set early when Jordan Sharpe buried a three-pointer on the second possession to give the Lynx an immediate spark. Randolph answered quickly and seized control midway through the first half, turning an early four-point deficit into a 13-point lead following an Azariah Hungerford layup with just under four minutes remaining.

NHTI responded behind Tijae Julien, who drilled two three-pointers and assisted on two additional baskets during a late surge to trim the deficit to 43-35 at halftime.

In the second half, Jaylon Calvin powered the Knights, helping Randolph maintain the lead for much of the final 20 minutes. The Lynx began to chip away when AJ Richardson secured an offensive rebound and converted a putback to make it 70-66 with just over 3:30 to play.

Moments later, Max Shosa delivered one of the game's biggest shots, knocking down a three-pointer to give NHTI a 75-74 lead and ignite the home crowd. The energy inside the gym continued to build down the stretch. After Calvin split a pair of free throws with 17 seconds remaining, NHTI had one final opportunity in regulation. Richardson rose from beyond the arc and buried a three-pointer with three seconds left to tie the game at 80-80.

Following a Randolph timeout, Calvin launched a potential game-winner from just beyond halfcourt, but the shot rattled off the rim, sending the contest to overtime.

The Lynx took control immediately in the extra period. Freshman Kayden Roberts, who had been held scoreless through regulation, knocked down three consecutive three-pointers to push NHTI ahead 89-85. The surge provided all the momentum the hosts needed, as Shosa went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in overtime to seal the victory.

Shosa finished with a game-high 36 points and 19 rebounds. Richardson added 25 points and nine rebounds off the bench, while Roberts scored all 11 of his points in overtime.

Calvin recorded a triple-double for Randolph with 28 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Jaden Clark added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Knights.

With the win, NHTI improves to 5-15 overall, while Randolph falls to 19-9. The Lynx travel to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Sunday.
