USCAA Championship Preview; NHTI vs. UC-Clermont

PITTSBURGH, P.A. - NHTI Women's soccer prepares for its USCAA Division II National Championship matchup against UC-Clermont.

UC-Clermont (11-5-1) enters as the division's top seed, while NHTI (14-1-1) comes in as the No. 2 seed, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. at Highmark Stadium.

Road to the title: NHTI

The Lynx opened pool play with a 3-0 win over Penn State Mont Alto on Friday night. The first half was tight, with NHTI creating most of the opportunities, totaling nine shots in the opening 45.

In the second half, the Lynx ramped up the pressure and broke through on a Morgan Rule free kick that found the top corner. Leah Davignon followed with a tap-in minutes later, and Adrienne Dorr added her 16th of the season in the 67th minute. Hailey Knight made one save in net for NHTI, while Kira Weikert stopped 15 shots for Mont-Alto.

Sunday's semifinal versus Christendom followed a different narrative, as Piper Flood found the back of the net early for NHTI. The defensive unit, led by All-American Alyviah Blad shutdown the Crusaders offense, allowing a single shot in the 1-0 victory.

Key Players:

Adrienne Dorr leads the charge offensively for NHTI. The YSCC Player of the Year and USCAA First Team All-American has been phenomenal this season, notching 16 goals and 7 assists. In between the sticks is another first team All-American, Hailey Knight. Knight leads Division II with 13 shutouts, making 45 saves on the year.

Alyviah Blad headlines a defensive unit that ranks first in goals allowed with just four on the year. Blad also ranks in the top 10 in Division II with six assists. In the midfield, All-American Tyler Harrington has been a crucial piece, holding and distributing the ball effectively and helping drive NHTI's offensive play.

Road to the title: UC-Clermont

Division II's top seed started group A pool action with a 2-0 win over YSCC Champion Southern Maine CC. Like their counterparts, the Cougars started off with dominant offensive play, led by Kaylee Rose, who opened the scoring in the 14th minute.

Rose added her second of the game late into the second half as the Cougars flexed their offensive muscles with 26 total shots in the game.

Yesterday's semifinal matchup featured another Clermont masterclass as the two-time defending champions defeated Penn State Schuylkill, 9-0. Seven different scorers contributed to the result, including Ava Scherz and Kiley Deighton, who each scored twice.

Key Players:

USCAA DII Player of the Year Kaylee Rose headlines the list for the Cougars. In 2025, Rose leads the division with 17 goals and ranks second in the division with 39 points. Alexis Taylor and Molly Ennis, both All-Americans, are major contributors in the final third. They combined for 20 assists this season, led by Ennis' 13.

Goalkeeper Jordan Geis, another All-American, anchors the Cougars defense. She ranks fourth nationally with an 85.7% save percentage and has allowed 13 goals this season.

UC-Clermont defeated NHTI 5–0 in 2024 pool play before going on to win the Division II national championship.
