RICHMOND, Va. - March 11, 2024 - The #2 ranked NHTI Men's Basketball team was upset in the final minutes of the National Small College National Championship Elite Eight game versus #10 ranked Penn State Wilkes-Barre. PS Wilkes-Barre is the reigning USCAA National Champion.
In a thrilling match-up, NHTI demonstrated exceptional resilience and competitive spirit against Penn State Wilkes-Barre, despite the final score leaning slightly in favor of Penn State Wilkes-Barre with a final score of 85-83.
From start to finish, the game showcased outstanding athleticism and determination from both teams. Lynx players exhibited remarkable skill and teamwork, captivating the audience with their strategic plays and unwavering effort.
This was led by standout performances from Joseph Cantey and Dahsan King, who contributed 17 points and 14 points respectively. The Lynx maintained a lead on the scoreboard throughout the game, it wasn't until under 2 seconds left on the clock that Penn State would take the final lead of the game.
