Volleyball Set for Sophomore Night Against Great Bay Wednesday

CONCORD, N.H. – NHTI Volleyball returns to the Dr. Goldie Crocker Wellness Center Wednesday evening, hosting Great Bay Community College for Sophomore Night at 6 p.m. in Yankee Small College Conference action.

As part of Wednesday's Sophomore Night, NHTI will recognize Brooke Kelly (Nottingham, N.H.) and Mia Parker (Mont Vernon, N.H.) as the Lynx honor their two sophomore student-athletes. Kelly also serves as one of the team's captains this season.

The Lynx enter Wednesday's matchup at 10-2 overall and 6-2 in YSCC play, sitting third in the East Division behind Southern Maine Community College (7-1) and Central Maine Community College (6-1). Great Bay enters at 2-4 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

NHTI carries a two-match winning streak into Wednesday after responding to its Sept. 23 loss to Central Maine with consecutive straight-set victories. The Lynx defeated York County Community College, 3-0, Saturday before sweeping Holyoke Community College, 3-0, Monday evening in Concord.

Through 12 matches, NHTI has held a significant statistical advantage over its opponents in several categories. The Lynx have recorded 358 kills to their opponents' 287, while holding opponents to a .043 hitting percentage. NHTI has also produced 130 service aces compared to 50 by its opponents and holds a 48-28 advantage in total blocks.

Kelly leads the Lynx attack with 115 kills, averaging 3.38 kills per set. Her 115 kills currently lead the YSCC, while her 3.38 kills per set rank third in the conference. Kelly has also contributed 103 digs, 20 service aces and 17 total blocks.

Esther de Souza Quina (Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil) continues to impact multiple areas for NHTI. The sophomore has totaled 230 assists, averaging 6.22 per set, while adding 116 digs, 43 kills, 28 service aces and a team-high 24 total blocks. Her 6.22 assists per set rank fourth in the YSCC, while her 0.65 blocks per set rank third.

Defensively, Ashlynn Williams (Greenfield, N.H.) leads NHTI with 119 digs, followed closely by Haven Schwartz (Buxton, N.C.) with 117 and de Souza Quina with 116. Williams has also recorded 20 service aces, while Schwartz has added 22.

Great Bay enters Wednesday following YSCC Crossover Weekend and a Sept. 25 matchup at Southern Maine. The Herons earned their two victories at the Crossover, defeating Vermont State University Randolph in five sets and Paul Smith's College in straight sets.

Great Bay's Grace Dale has been among the conference's offensive leaders, averaging 3.24 kills per set while leading the YSCC with 1.29 service aces per set.

NHTI has won all six previous meetings against Great Bay dating back to the first matchup on Sept. 26, 2023. All six victories have come in straight sets, including two wins during the 2025 season. The Lynx most recently defeated the Herons, 3-0, on Oct. 15, 2025, in Portsmouth.

Wednesday's match is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Concord. The contest will be streamed live at YSCCSportsNetwork.com.
