CONCORD, N.H. – No. 8 NHTI Volleyball returns to the Dr. Goldie Crocker Wellness Center Monday evening, hosting Holyoke Community College at 6:30 p.m. in a non-conference matchup between a pair of teams that have combined for just three losses this season.
The Lynx enter Monday at 9-2 overall and 6-2 in Yankee Small College Conference play following a 3-0 victory over York County Community College Saturday. NHTI has won nine of its first 11 matches, including eight by straight sets.
Holyoke enters at 5-1 overall and 5-1 in NJCAA Region 21 play. The Cougars opened the season with five consecutive victories before suffering their first loss Saturday, falling to Northern Essex Community College in five sets.
Monday marks the first meeting between NHTI and Holyoke since the programs split a pair of matches during the 2024 season. NHTI earned a 3-0 road victory in Holyoke on Sept. 19, 2024, before the Cougars responded with a 3-0 win in Concord one week later.
NHTI has been led offensively by Brooke Kelly (Nottingham, N.H.), who has recorded a YSCC-leading 103 kills this season. Kelly's 3.32 kills per set rank third in the conference, while she has also contributed 92 digs, 20 service aces, and 15 total blocks.
Esther de Souza Quina (Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil) continues to contribute across the floor for the Lynx. The first-year setter ranks second in the YSCC with a .289 hitting percentage, third with 0.71 blocks per set, and fourth with 5.85 assists per set. De Souza Quina has totaled 199 assists, 103 digs, 42 kills, 26 service aces, and 24 total blocks through 34 sets.
As a team, NHTI has totaled 320 kills, 285 assists, 125 service aces, 604 digs, and 46 blocks through 10 matches with available statistics. Lynx opponents have recorded 264 kills, 229 assists, 48 aces, 599 digs, and 25 blocks over that span.
Monday continues a five-match homestand for NHTI. The Lynx fell to Central Maine Community College Sept. 23 before sweeping York County Community College Sept. 26, and will host Great Bay Community College Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. before welcoming Central Maine Community College Sunday, Oct. 4, at noon as part of NHTI Homecoming Weekend.
