CONCORD, N.H. - NHTI Baseball second-year pitcher TJ Charbono (Franklin, N.H.) has opened the fall season with a strong stretch on the mound, highlighted by six innings without allowing an earned run in Tuesday's 3-2 victory over Vermont State University Randolph.

Charbono made the start against the Knights and worked through six innings, allowing six hits and one unearned run while striking out eight and issuing just one walk. He kept VTSU Randolph off the scoreboard through the first five innings before the Knights pushed across an unearned run in the sixth.

The outing helped NHTI secure its first countable victory of the fall. The Lynx eventually earned the win in walk-off fashion when Logan Minckler (Claremont, N.H.) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field in the bottom of the ninth, scoring August Hatmaker (Peterborough, N.H.) for the 3-2 final.

Charbono has appeared in all three of NHTI's countable games this fall, totaling 9.0 innings pitched while allowing just one earned run for a 1.00 ERA. He has struck out 12 batters while surrendering only one walk across those appearances.

The second-year pitcher made nine appearances for the Lynx during his first season in Concord, totaling 28.2 innings on the mound.

Charbono opened the 2026 fall season with two scoreless innings against York County Community College on Sept. 1 before striking out three in one inning in a Yankee Small College Conference matchup with Central Maine Community College on Sept. 11. Tuesday's outing against VTSU Randolph marked his first start of the fall.

NHTI returns to action Thursday, Sept. 17 when the Lynx host Bridgton Academy for a seven-inning scrimmage at 4 p.m. in Concord. The next countable contests are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, when NHTI travels to Vermont State University Lyndon for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
