CONCORD, N.H. - NHTI Baseball returns to regular-season action Friday afternoon when the Lynx host Central Maine Community College at 3 p.m. at the NHTI Baseball Field.
The matchup marks NHTI's first YSCC contest of the season and its first nine-inning game of the year. The Lynx enter Friday 0-1 overall and 0-0 in conference play.
NHTI has played three scrimmages since opening the season with an 11-1 loss to York County Community College on Sept. 1. The Lynx split a September 5 doubleheader with Roxbury Community College, falling 9-7 before earning a 4-1 victory, and most recently dropped a 10-0 scrimmage at Bridgton Academy on Wednesday.
Central Maine enters Friday 1-0 after opening its season with a 16-6 non-conference road victory over Southern Maine Community College on Tuesday. The Mustangs scored 16 runs in the victory, which ended after eight innings despite being scheduled for nine, and enter their YSCC opener hitting .216 with a .383 on-base percentage.
Central Maine leads the all-time series against NHTI, 52-46, and has won the last 12 meetings between the programs. The Lynx's most recent victory over the Mustangs came in a 9-1 win on October 13, 2023.
The teams met five times during the 2025-26 season, with Central Maine winning each matchup. Their most recent meeting came in the YSCC Tournament, where the Mustangs earned a 7-0 victory on April 28.
Sophomore TJ Charbono (Franklin, N.H.) turned in several strong outings against Central Maine last season. Over his final three appearances against the Mustangs, Charbono combined for 11.1 innings, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out 17. In the teams' most recent meeting, he struck out nine over five innings while surrendering just two hits and one earned run.
Several other Lynx also bring experience from last season's five meetings with Central Maine. Sophomore Camden Morrill (Raymond, N.H.) recorded a hit and an RBI against the Mustangs, while Nick Snoonian (Ashburnham, Mass.) collected a hit in his lone at-bat. Dillon Depietro (Amherst, N.H.) scored twice and drew a walk across the season series.
First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday in Concord.
