CONCORD, N.H. – NHTI Volleyball fell to Central Maine Community College in four tightly contested sets Sunday afternoon at the Dr. Goldie Crocker Wellness Center, closing out NHTI Homecoming Weekend with a 27-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21 loss.
The loss moves the Lynx to 11-3 overall and 7-3 in Yankee Small College Conference play, while Central Maine improves to 10-2 overall and 7-2 in the YSCC.
Central Maine took a back-and-forth opening set, 27-25, before NHTI answered in the second. The Lynx earned a 25-23 victory to even the match at one set apiece.
The Mustangs responded with a 25-22 victory in the third before closing out the match, 25-21, in the fourth. All four sets were decided by four points or fewer.
Sunday's result gives Central Maine the season sweep of NHTI after the Mustangs also earned a 3-0 victory in Concord on Sept. 23.
The result also shifts the YSCC East standings, with Central Maine moving to 7-2 in conference play and into second place behind Southern Maine Community College at 8-1. NHTI now sits third at 7-3.
