CONCORD, N.H. – NHTI Women's Basketball begins its preparations for the 2026-27 season Tuesday evening, traveling to Colby-Sawyer College for a preseason scrimmage at the Dan & Kathleen Hogan Sports Center in New London, N.H.
Tipoff is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. as the Lynx take the court for the first time this season.
Tuesday's matchup will be NHTI's lone preseason scrimmage before opening regular-season competition Saturday at the Roxbury Community College Tournament in Boston.
NHTI enters its second season under head coach Bart Hollander, who took over the program in July 2025 following four seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA Division III Westfield State University.
During Hollander's tenure at Westfield State, the Owls compiled a 66-42 overall record and advanced to at least the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) semifinals in all four seasons, including a conference championship appearance following an 18-win 2022-23 campaign.
Hollander is joined on the sidelines by first-year assistant coach Ridge Gonzales, who also serves as a Residential Director within NHTI Residence Life and Student Engagement. Gonzales was a two-sport varsity high school athlete (basketball and baseball) at The Derryfield School in Manchester, N.H., before graduating from Bentley University.
The Lynx enter the season with a largely new roster, with sophomore Brooke Hurlbert (Franklin, N.H.) serving as the team's lone returning player. Hurlbert appeared in one game during the 2025-26 campaign, recording five rebounds, one block, and one steal in 32 minutes of action.
Tuesday's matchup is a preseason scrimmage and will not count toward either team's official record.

NHTI was originally scheduled to open its preseason Sunday, Oct. 25, at Northern Essex Community College, but the scrimmage was canceled after the two teams were matched up in the opening game of the Roxbury Community College Alumni Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 31.
The Lynx will instead face Northern Essex in their regular-season opener Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Mass. NHTI concludes the two-day tournmanet Sunday, Nov. 1, against host Roxbury Community College at 12:15 p.m.
