NHTI has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the 2025-2026 women's basketball season due to low roster numbers and thus concern for student-athlete safety and well-being. The NHTI Lynx Women's Basketball program is charting an energetic and intentional path forward, using the cancellation of the 2025–2026 season as an opportunity to strengthen its foundation, expand recruiting reach, and build a sustainable, community-focused program with regional and national competitive impact.
"My greatest disappointment is for the outstanding core of first-year players who wanted to compete this year," said head coach Bart Hollander. "I have already turned the page to focus on securing the deepest and most talented class the program has seen in 25 years."
Looking ahead to next season, Hollander and NHTI Director of Athletics Annie Mattarazzo are confident that roster size will not be an issue.
"Despite the cancellation, we are confident our program is moving in a great direction under Coach Hollander. Lynx Women's Basketball will return stronger, more connected, and better positioned for sustained success. With a renewed focus on development, opportunity, and community, the program is laying the groundwork for a future that reflects both competitive excellence and the values of NHTI," said Mattarazzo. "The Lynx are not stepping away; they are building forward."
