Lynx Host Kent State Tuscarawas Saturday to Open Three-Game Weekend Series

CONCORD, N.H. – NHTI Baseball returns home Saturday afternoon to begin its final weekend of the fall season, hosting Kent State University at Tuscarawas at noon at the NHTI Baseball Field. The matchup marks the first of three games between the two programs, with a doubleheader scheduled for Sunday.

Saturday's contest will be the first meeting in program history between NHTI and Kent State Tuscarawas. All three games will count toward the teams' official records and statistics but will not impact the Yankee Small College Conference standings.

The Lynx enter the weekend with a 2-6 overall record after earning a 9-5 victory over Vermont State University Randolph Wednesday afternoon. The win snapped a four-game losing streak in countable games and marked NHTI's first conference victory of the fall.

NHTI has been led offensively by Daniel Sherkanowski (Bristol, N.H.), who is batting .440 with a team-high 11 hits, while Caden Jordan (Hooksett, N.H.) is batting .333 with 10 hits and a team-leading four doubles. Camden Morrill (Raymond, N.H.) has contributed a .280 average, a team-high five RBI and the Lynx's lone home run of the fall.

On the mound, Isaac Clough (Antrim, N.H.) leads NHTI with a 2.08 ERA across 13 innings pitched, recording 13 strikeouts. TJ Charbono (Franklin, N.H.) has struck out a team-high 29 batters across 20.2 innings, while Owen Stewart (Pembroke, N.H.) earned the team's lone pitching victory.

Saturday's matchup is part of a revised final week of the fall schedule. NHTI was originally scheduled to host Massasoit Community College in a scrimmage Saturday, a contest that had already been postponed from Sept. 26. That game has since been canceled, with the Lynx instead adding the Saturday matchup against Kent State Tuscarawas.

The visiting Golden Eagles will be in the midst of a busy weekend in New Hampshire, with seven games scheduled across three days. Kent State Tuscarawas opens its trip with a doubleheader at Great Bay Community College Friday evening before traveling to Concord for Saturday's noon matchup. The Golden Eagles will then return to Great Bay for another doubleheader Saturday evening before concluding their trip with Sunday's two games against NHTI.

Following Saturday's contest, the Lynx and Golden Eagles will meet again Sunday, Oct. 18, for a seven-inning doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m., with the second game scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday's games will mark the conclusion of NHTI's fall schedule before the program resumes competition in the spring.

All three contests will be available to watch live on the YSCC Sports Network.
