BOSTON, Mass. - NHTI Volleyball continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season Saturday morning, earning its fourth consecutive straight-set victory with a 3-0 win over Bunker Hill Community College at the Health and Wellness Center.
The Lynx took the match by set scores of 25-22, 25-17, and 25-18 to improve to 4-0 overall while remaining 1-0 in Yankee Small College Conference play. NHTI has won all 12 sets it has played through its first four matches of the season.
NHTI's offense became increasingly efficient as the match progressed. After hitting .049 in the opening set, the Lynx improved to .250 in the second before committing no attacking errors and hitting .324 in the third. NHTI finished with 33 kills and 32 assists while holding Bunker Hill to a .019 hitting percentage for the match.
Esther de Souza Quina (Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil) produced an all-around performance for the Lynx, finishing with eight kills on 10 attacks without an error for an .800 hitting percentage. The freshman also directed the offense with a match-high 25 assists, added four service aces and nine digs, and led NHTI at the net with four solo blocks. Her 16 points were a match high.
Sophomore captain
Brooke Kelly (Nottingham, N.H.) led the Lynx with 10 kills while adding eight digs, two solo blocks, two assists, and a service ace.
Brooke Hurlbert (Franklin, N.H.) contributed five kills without an attacking error for a .333 hitting percentage and recorded a team-high 11 digs.
Emma Kowalski (Salem, N.H.) also played an efficient match, recording six kills without an error while adding nine digs, a service ace, and a solo block.
Ashlynn Williams (Greenfield, N.H.) finished with four kills, two aces, seven digs, and a solo block, while
Haven Schwartz (Buxton, N.C.) added five digs and three assists.
Defensively, NHTI totaled 49 digs and eight solo blocks while Bunker Hill committed 24 attacking errors. The Bulldogs were held below a .100 hitting percentage in all three sets, including a -.029 mark in the second. NHTI also held an 8-4 advantage in service aces.
The opening set proved to be the closest of the afternoon, with NHTI taking a 25-22 victory before pulling away over the final two frames. The Lynx followed with a 25-17 second-set win and closed the match with a 25-18 victory in the third to complete their fourth sweep in as many matches.
UP NEXT
The Lynx return to action Thursday, September 17 when they travel to York County Community College for their second YSCC matchup of the season. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Sanford Memorial Gymnasium in Wells, Maine.
Following the York County meeting, the Lynx will return to Concord to host the 2026 YSCC Crossover Weekend, where they will play four matches over three days, spanning September 18-20.
