CONCORD, N.H. – NHTI Baseball closed out 2026 Homecoming Weekend Sunday afternoon with a 4-2 loss to the University of Maine at Augusta in Yankee Small College Conference action at the NHTI Baseball Field.
The loss moves the Lynx to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in YSCC play, while UMaine Augusta improves to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The teams played four scoreless innings before the Moose broke through with three runs in the top of the fifth.
UMaine Augusta opened the inning with a double before putting two more runners aboard. Davis Kibler delivered a two-run single to give the Moose a 2-0 advantage before Cash Bizier stole home later in the inning as part of a double steal to extend the lead to three.
NHTI answered in the bottom half. Pierre Mendez (Manchester, N.H.). opened the inning with a single before Camden Morrill (Raymond, N.H.) followed with another base hit. Mendez later scored on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 3-1.
The Moose added an unearned run in the seventh when Kibler doubled and later scored on an NHTI error, giving UMaine Augusta a 4-1 advantage.
NHTI mounted one final push in the bottom of the ninth. Nick Snoonian (Ashburnham, Mass.) opened the inning with a pinch-hit double before Sean Kilcoyne (North Andover, Mass.) re-entered to run. Kilcoyne advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a lineout from Morrill to bring the Lynx within two, but UMaine Augusta recorded the final out to secure the 4-2 victory.
The Lynx finished with eight hits, led by Brenden Ringman (Chicopee, Mass.) and Daniel Sherkanowski (Bristol, N.H.), who each went 2-for-4. Owen Stewart (Pembroke, N.H.), Mendez, Morrill and Snoonian each added one hit, with Snoonian recording NHTI's lone extra-base hit.
Isaac Clough (Antrim, N.H.) made the start for NHTI, allowing three earned runs on six hits across 4.1 innings while striking out three. TJ Charbono (Franklin, N.H.) worked the final 4.2 innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits while striking out eight. The two combined for 11 strikeouts.
UMaine Augusta finished with 10 hits, while NHTI committed the lone error of the game. The Moose scored three runs in the fifth and one in the seventh, while the Lynx plated runs in the fifth and ninth.
Sunday's game marked the final athletic event of NHTI's 2026 Homecoming Weekend.
