The NHTI volleyball team will hit the road Tuesday night for a YSCC quarterfinal matchup against Central Maine Community College, with first serve set for 6 p.m. in Auburn, Maine.
The two programs enter the postseason as the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds, respectively, after a closely contested regular season. CMCC finished 6–4 in conference play (7–5 overall), while NHTI posted a 5–5 conference mark and a 6–5 overall record.
Both regular-season matchups were tight contests, with each team defending their home court. CMCC took the first meeting on September 7, while NHTI earned revenge on September 28, a victory that snapped the Mustangs' head-to-head seven-match winning streak dating back to 2022.
Each team feature standout players capable of taking over a match. For CMCC, Isabella Higgins has been a force across the board, leading the Mustangs in six major statistical categories. Higgins averages 3.27 digs per set and 2.16 kills per set, making her a key two-way contributor. Setter Keliah Stith is another player to watch—she leads the team with 4.78 assists per set and recorded 20 assists in both meetings against NHTI this season.
For the Lynx, the offensive power runs through Amy Bernard, who ranks second in the conference with 3.47 kills per set. Natalie Thoresen has been the catalyst for NHTI's attack, leading the conference with 6.97 assists per set.
