CONCORD, N.H. — The NHTI women's soccer team battled Southern Maine Community College to a scoreless draw on Wednesday afternoon in Yankee Small College Conference action.
It was a tightly contested match from start to finish, as both defenses held firm. NHTI generated 23 total shots, including 10 on target, while the Seawolves were limited to just one shot on goal.
Goalkeeper Hailey Knight earned her eighth clean sheet of the season, stopping the lone shot she faced to preserve the shutout. On the other end, Aubrey Gilbert was outstanding in goal for Southern Maine, making 10 saves to keep the game level.
Offensively, Eva LaValley led the Lynx with six shots and three on goal, while Alyviah Blad added two shots on frame. Adrienne Dorr and Darci Stone each contributed four shot attempts as NHTI maintained steady pressure throughout both halves.
"It was a hard-fought battle with SMCC, and our girls fought beginning to end," said Head Coach Heidi Crockett. "Though it was not the result that we wanted, it was good for us to be challenged at this time in the season. Now it's time to prepare for the playoffs."
With the result, NHTI moves to 10–0–1 overall and 9–0–1 in conference play, while Southern Maine stands at 6-3-3 overall and 4-3-3 in YSCC competition.
