Volleyball Major Awards

CONCORD, N.H. - December 21, 2023 - The Lynx volleyball team announced their major award winners for the 2023 season. The three major awards handed out included Most Valuable Player, the Lynx Award and Most Improved Player.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
Captain Alysha Mingo-Timmons (Laconia, N.H.) was named the team's Most Valuable Player. Mingo-Timmons was the Lynx primary setter for the 2023 season and was a team leader on and off the court. Entering the fall, the Lynx did not have a returning or entering setter. Mingo-Timmons stepped up to take the role and lead the Lynx offense. She will look to graduate with a Sport Management degree this spring.

"Without her willingness and dedication to the program, the team would not have been able to compete at the high level of the 2023 squad." - Coach Brett Sayer

LYNX AWARD
Captain Jordan Ingoldsby (Alton, N.H.) was named the receipient of the Lynx Award. The Lynx Award is given annually to the player who goes above and beyond both on the court and as a leader. Ingoldsby embodied these traits in the 2023 season. She played multiple positions for the team and was a leader for the younger players. She will return to lead the Lynx 2024 as the team's captain.

"(Jordan) has been the backbone of the program as a leader on and off the court. She showed so much dedication and determination as a leader and deserves the award given to the player who goes above and beyond." - Coach Brett Sayer

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER
First year defensive specialist Samantha Locker (Merrimack, N.H.) was named the Most Improved Player for the 2023 season. Locker entered the year as one of the teams four defensive specialists, but quickly began to stand out.. The work ethic she displayed paid off as she earned the starting libero role for half of the team's matches. She will look to continue her growth in the 2024 season.

"Sam has grown and developed so much in her first year. From a high school manager to earning a starting role as libero" - Coach Brett Sayer
