AUBURN, MAINE – September 5, 2023 - NHTI's women's volleyball team traveled to Central Maine Community College for the opening season matchup against the 2022 YSCC Conference Champions.
In a thrilling clash between NHTI and CMCC on Dave Gonyea Court, the momentum swung back and forth throughout most of the first set. The set continued with both teams trading points until Central Maine unleashed a series of devastating service aces, propelling them to a 25-15 victory in the first set.
In the second set, the Mustangs took advantage of some Lynx errors to build an early lead. NHTI bounced back and forced the Mustangs to call a timeout after an
Emma Ferguson kill which brought the score to 13-11. With several strong serves and timely kills propelled Central Maine to a 25-18 victory in the second set.
Despite a few moments of resistance from NHTI in the third set, CM was able to close out the Lynx 25-17, and the game 3 - 0.
