Unbeaten Lynx Close YSCC Crossover Weekend With Sunday Pair

CONCORD, N.H. – NHTI Volleyball will close out YSCC Volleyball Crossover Weekend with two matches Sunday at the Dr. Goldie Crocker Wellness Center, facing Paul Smith's College at 2 p.m. before taking on Word of Life at 4 p.m.

The Lynx enter the final day of the weekend 7-0 overall and 4-0 in Yankee Small Conference Play, sitting atop the YSCC as the conference's lone remaining unbeaten team.

NHTI opened crossover play Friday night with a five-set victory over Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences before returning Saturday afternoon to sweep Vermont State University Randolph in straight sets.

The 7-0 start is NHTI's best since 2012, being just the second 7-0 opening in the program's available records dating back to 2011. The 2012 Lynx began their season 8-0, giving NHTI an opportunity Sunday to first match that mark and potentially establish a new best start within the available record book.

Both Sunday matches will be played at the Dr. Goldie Crocker Wellness Center but are officially designated as neutral-site contests as part of the crossover format. NHTI will serve as the designated home team in each match.

Paul Smith's College
Paul Smith's enters Sunday 2-10 overall and 2-3 in YSCC play, sitting in the middle of the YSCC West standings. The Bobcats will face Great Bay Community College at 10 a.m. before meeting NHTI at 2 p.m.

Paul Smith's earned its first victory of the season Sept. 8 with a 3-1 win at Vermont State University Randolph before defeating York County Community College in five sets Friday at the crossover. The Bobcats then dropped straight-set decisions to Southern Maine Community College and Central Maine Community College on Saturday.

Sunday's meeting will be the 37th between NHTI and Paul Smith's in the program's available records. The Bobcats hold a 19-17 advantage in the all-time series.

NHTI won the most recent matchup 3-1 on Oct. 26, 2025, snapping a nine-match losing streak against Paul Smith's. It marked the Lynx's first victory in the series since Oct. 3, 2021.

A victory Sunday afternoon would improve NHTI to 8-0, matching the 2012 team for the best start in the program's available records dating back to 2011.

Word of Life
Word of Life enters Sunday 2-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play. The Huskies will play Great Bay at noon before facing NHTI at 4 p.m.

Word of Life opened its season with a 3-1 victory over Fashion Institute of Technology and followed with a straight-set win over York County on Friday. The Huskies have since dropped consecutive four-set matches against Central Maine and Southern Maine.

NHTI holds a 6-4 advantage in the all-time series against Word of Life, which dates back to 2012.

Word of Life won the most recent meeting 3-1 on Sept. 21, 2025. NHTI's most recent victory in the series came Oct. 19, 2024, when the Lynx swept the Huskies in straight sets.

The 4 p.m. matchup will be the second contest of the day for both teams. Depending on the result of NHTI's opening match against Paul Smith's, the Lynx could enter the finale with an opportunity to improve to 9-0 and surpass the 2012 team's 8-0 start.

First serve against Paul Smith's is scheduled for 2 p.m., with NHTI's matchup against Word of Life set for 4 p.m.

Watch both matches on the YSCC Sports Network.
