AUBURN, Maine - NHTI Men's Soccer opened Yankee Small College Conference play Thursday evening, falling 6-2 at Central Maine Community College.

The Lynx answered an early Central Maine goal to pull even in the 12th minute. After the Mustangs opened the scoring at 6:23, Dominic Davis (Pembroke, N.H.) found the net at 11:18 for his first goal of the season. Delvaughn Daley (Randolph, Mass.) provided the assist, with Davis finishing a low shot from the top of the box off the post and in to tie the match at 1-1.

Central Maine regained the lead late in the opening half when Matthew Greco scored his second goal of the match at 39:11, sending the Mustangs into halftime ahead 2-1. NHTI goalkeeper Daniel Sherkanowski (Bristol, N.H.) made six first-half saves as the Lynx remained within one through the opening 45 minutes.

The Mustangs extended their advantage with goals from Daniel Semple in the 52nd minute and Pedro Sebastiao in the 61st, pushing the lead to 4-1.

NHTI responded again in the 70th minute. Following a Lynx corner kick, Kombozi Amosi (Manchester, N.H.) scored his first goal of the season on a scramble in front of goal, finishing into the bottom corner. Daley picked up his second assist of the night on the play, cutting the Central Maine lead to 4-2.

Central Maine answered just over a minute later when Semple scored his second goal of the match before Drew Hatala added the final goal in the 83rd minute.

Daley finished with two assists and put two of his three shots on goal. Through two matches, the sophomore leads NHTI with four points on one goal and two assists. Davis and Amosi each recorded their first goals of the season, giving the Lynx three different goal scorers through their first two countable contests.

Sherkanowski played all 90 minutes in goal and made a season-high eight saves. He has now recorded 13 saves through NHTI's first two matches. The Lynx finished with 10 shots, including five on goal, while Central Maine recorded 29 shots and 14 on target. NHTI also earned three corner kicks, all coming in the second half.

With the result, NHTI moves to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in YSCC play, while Central Maine improves to 3-5 overall and 3-0 in conference action.
