NHTI Men's Golf: 2026 Season in Review

CONCORD, N.H. – NHTI Men's Golf concluded its 2026 season finishing third at the Yankee Small College Conference Championship to cap its first campaign under head coach Ryan Rothdiener.

The Lynx competed in three completed tournaments throughout the fall, with two additional scheduled events impacted by weather. NHTI placed fourth at the Kennebec Valley Community College Invitational Sept. 19, fifth at the Southern Maine Community College Invitational Sept. 20, and third at the YSCC Championship Oct. 4.

Sophomore Bronson Ammann (Hopkinton, N.H.) led NHTI throughout the fall, recording an 80 in each of the team's first two completed tournaments before shooting a season-best 76 (+5) at the conference championship.

Ammann's performance at the YSCC Championship earned him a share of second place in the 29-golfer field, improving on his fourth-place finish in 2025. He also earned YSCC All-Tournament honors after recording three birdies during his final round.

Freshman Luke Vattes joined Ammann in the top 10 at the conference championship, tying for seventh with an eight-over-par 79. Brycen Lubelcyzk tied for 16th with an 86 (+15), while Brett Thorpe finished 22nd with a 93 (+22). Daniel Korth rounded out the Lynx lineup, finishing 28th with a 118 (+47).

The four counting scores combined for a team total of 334 (+50), earning NHTI third place among six conference programs. Southern Maine Community College captured the championship with a 309 (+25), followed by the University of Maine at Augusta at 311 (+27).

NHTI began its completed tournament schedule with a fourth-place finish at the KVCC Invitational (Sept. 19), recording a team score of 355 (+67). The following day, Sept. 20, the Lynx finished fifth at the SMCC Invitational, improving to 55-over par.

The 2026 season also marked the beginning of Rothdiener's tenure leading the golf program. An NHTI alumnus and Hall of Fame inductee, Rothdiener returned to his alma mater ahead of the fall season. Ammann was the lone returning member of the 2025 roster, while Vattes, Lubelcyzk, Thorpe, and Korth each made their NHTI debuts during the campaign.

The Lynx's season included weather-related disruptions, beginning with the NHTI Fall Invitational Sept. 13, which was cut short by rain before official results could be recorded. The Moose Invitational, scheduled for Sept. 27, was also postponed due to weather.

NHTI concluded its 2026 campaign with its strongest team placement of the fall at the YSCC Championship.
