Box Score The Lynx volleyball team traveled north to take on CMCC in conference play on Sunday 9/7.
This was a good early season test for the team to measure where they are at this point in the season. Last year in two matches our Lynx did not win a set against CMCC. This year however that was not the case.
The Mustangs came out hot in the first set with some big points and won 25-16 to go up 1-0 in the match. The Lynx however came out in the second set and turned the tide. Led by
Emma Bernard and
Brooke Kelly, the squad was able to have some nice kills and won the second set 25-16. In set three there was a lot of play that went back and forth for both teams and eventually saw the Mustangs come out on top 25-23.
The determined Lynx would not go away.
Natalie Thoresen dished out some nice assists and
Samantha Locker came up with some big digs and saw the team come away with a win 25-19.
All tied at 2 sets, it would come down to the fifth and final. The play went back and forth at the beginning but CMCC turned out to be a little too much for NHTI and won the fifth by a score of 15-10.
The Lynx return to action Wednesday 9/10 when they travel to SMCC for a 5:30 pm start time.
