It was a perfect day for Eli Lemire at the Founding Tree Invitational last Saturday. In a match featuring teams from all over the region, 106 male runners in total, he was able to outdo them all. 4 miles in to the roughly 5 mile race, 8 kilometers if you go by the metric system, Lemire found himself in a pack of 4 runners at the front of the group. As he approached his last mile he was able to turn on the jets and leave all the other runners behind, ultimately winning the match a full 12 seconds quicker than the next fastest finisher. His time of 26:58.06 stood top of the group, his average mile time of 5:25.6 just another way to show how great a day he had. It has been a steadily improving season for Lemire, with a 6th place finish in his opening race & a 5th place finish in his race preceding this one.

Andrew Struass was the next quickest runner on the Men's side for NHTI, finishing 23rd with a time of 30:41.8. On the Women's side it was Lillyanna Cloutier who led the way, finishing 36th in the 6K with a time of 31:39.9. Cross Country will have their next test on 10/11 at the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup, hosted by Franklin Pierce University, in Hopkinton, NH.
