AUBURN, ME – September 15, 2023 – The NHTI baseball team traveled to Auburn, Maine, on Friday for a doubleheader against conference opponent, Central Maine Community College.
In game 1, CMCC came out the gates quickly scoring four runs in the first three innings to lead the Lynx by a score of 3-1. But then Lynx turned the tables putting up 5 more runs in the last two innings to secure a 6-3 Lynx Win.
Leading the way for the Lynx:
Offensively
Richard Thibeault (Hudson, NH, Alvirne)2-4 with 1 RBI
Anthony Boomer (Tilton, NH, Winnisquam Regional) 2-4 with 1 RBI
Liam Waldron (Canterbury, NH, Belmont)2-3 with 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base
Isaac Swisher (Chestermere, Canada, Central Memorial) &
Kyle Slate (Merrimack, NH, Merrimack) both had 2 RBI's
Pitching
Liam Waldron was credited with the Win, pitching 4 innings. He allowed only 2 hits and didn't give up any runs.
In game 2, the Lynx were in leading after a Richie Thibeault RBI single in the 3
rd inning. NHTI would lead the rest of the way until 2 out in the last of the 7
th inning. At this point, a Mustang flyball led to two unearned runs and a CMCC win, 2-1.
Matthew Drewes (Concord, NH, Concord) pitched the entire game for the Lynx. He struck out 10 batters, surrendering only 5 hits on the day, and gave up no earned runs.
