KJ Matte joined the NHTI men's basketball staff in 2025 and brings a strong background in player development, winning culture, and New Hampshire basketball tradition. A former standout player, Matte was the NHIAA Player of the Year, a 1,000-point scorer, and led the Lebanon Raiders to a state championship his senior season.
Matte continued his playing career at Bowdoin College, competing in the prestigious New England Small College Athletic Conference and gaining firsthand experience in high-level college basketball. After college, Matte began coaching with the Longhorns AAU program and later served as the JV boys' coach at Bow High School, where he developed a reputation for teaching pace, decision making, and guard skills.
At NHTI, Matte oversees player development and skill work, working closely with guards and perimeter players to improve technique, reads, and game-specific habits. His ability to translate his own playing experience into clear, practical instruction makes him a central piece of the Lynx coaching staff.
In addition to his role at NHTI, Matte works as an ELL teacher at an elementary school in Manchester, NH. His background in education enhances his communication, patience, and mentorship with student-athletes.
